Carbon comp resistors to produce the classic tweed tone.

Heyboer '50s Fender Tweed 40W/50W power transformer; constructed using a paper layer wound core, just like the vintage tweed-era original.

Heyboer '50s Fender Tweed 40W/50W output transformer; constructed using a paper layer wound core, just like the vintage tweed-era original.

SOZO Blue Molded capacitors (based on the vintage Astron capacitor design) capture the vintage tones of the '50s Fender Tweed amps.

MOD filter capacitors; quality capacitors constructed to the specifications of '50s-era caps, to reproduce that great Tweed vintage tone.

Red Jupiter capacitors are used in all pre-amp by-pass cap positions.

Fixed bias, with an adjustable bias pot to fine-tune the 6L6GC power tube's bias – from mild to mean.

Scumback  H75-LD 12" ceramic speakers; big sounding, detailed low midrange enhanced pre-rola 75Hz guitar speakers, with smooth overdrive and distortion tones, and a bit more bass response; utilizing a large dust cap to smooth out (roll off) the highs slightly and make the treble silkier, while also allowing for better high-gain handling and speaker efficiency, making the amp louder with more definition.

This amp is a 5E3 Tweed Deluxe on steroids. At low volume, the amp is right on the edge of nasty, while still providing touch sensitivity and clarity; but when cranked, it provides a detailed overdrive that is classic '60s - '70s rock-'n'-roll. Great amp for blues, rock, rock-a-billy, and country.

The Normal Channel is now a 'Gain Channel' in this amp; it's like having a built-in all tube overdrive pedal. The Normal Channel is re-routed, so that after it goes through the V1A preamp tube it then goes into the Bright Channel, cascading the gain stages together. The gain is controlled by the Normal Volume and Master Volume pots, which are used together to dial in as much tube overdrive as desired. Even better, preamp tube overdrive is available even at very low 'Master Volume' levels.

The Bright Channel Input 1, which is controlled by the Master Volume only, is unchanged, and gives a very sweet – but meaty – 5E3 Tweed tone. The Normal Volume does interact with Bright Channel Input 2, so use both the Normal Volume and the Master Volume to control the Bright Input 2 volume.

When using the Bright Hi Channel simply turn down the Gain Volume and use the Master Volume and the amp will sound completely normal. The Gain Volume does interact with the Bright Lo volume so use both the Gain Volume and the Master Volume to control the Bright Lo volume. The Input 2 on both the Bright and Normal/Gain Channels do have the normal 5E3 6dB less signal.
